Florida has mandated that all public schools adopt digital-only textbooks by the 2015-16 school year. The project’s technology standards will help teachers and students prepare for this critical technological shift by acclimating them to the use of iPads in the classroom.
Additionally, students will use technology for research and to effectively communicate with others. By using the Habitat Tracker website and iPad application, students will locate, evaluate, and collect information, and they will process data, analyze those data, and report results. Through this experience, students will collaborate with peers and others using technology tools to investigate nature of science curriculum concepts.
